What is the UR Action Fellowship? The UR Action Fellowship is a unique nine-month opportunity for civically minded community members to enhance their leadership abilities, implement impactful projects, and join our movement for local action and national unity.
As a UR Action fellow, you'll strengthen your consensus-building and civic engagement skills via a world-class curriculum and dynamic instructors. Then you'll roll up your sleeves to address social, economic, ecological, and/or political challenges as part of a diverse group across the urban-rural divide committed to local action and national unity.
What is included in the Fellowship?
Skill enhancement in consensus-building and civic engagement
Participation in communal meals following each workshop
Opportunity to lead the design and implementation of community projects
Membership in an awesome urban-rural network of fellows committed to local action and national unity
What commitment do UR Action Fellows make? The fellowship is nine months, with the expectation that you commit two to four hours a week. We know you keep a busy schedule, and will work to sync your availability with your commitment to UR Action. Here's what's included:
Participation in consensus-building workshop + communal meal (full Saturday)
Participation in project design and selection workshop + communal meal (full Saturday)
Six-month project implementation, which will likely consist of several day-long activities plus ongoing planning, organizing, and coordinating
Shared responsibility for creating a positive experience for all Fellows
Will Fellows be paid a stipend? Not at this time, unfortunately.
What is the deadline for 2019 Fellowship applications? Thursday, Feb 28, 2019 at 11:59 pm Eastern.
