Uniting for Action: Maryland Taking Action Across Maryland's Urban/Rural Divide
What is this program all about? Uniting for Action: Maryland is a NON-PARTISAN initiative to build connections and take joint action to address community challenges across distance and difference in Maryland.
Who is leading this effort? Uniting for Action: Maryland is a collaboration among Urban Rural Action, the Washington County Chamber of Commerce, and Towson University's Civic Engagement and Social Responsibility office.
Who is this for? Maryland residents 18+ from urban, suburban, and rural areas with wide-ranging views who are tired of waiting for elected officials to address their community's needs AND want to take action themselves to improve our state.
How are we doing this? We meet regularly online for structured discussion, small group brainstorming, and collaboration focused on TAKING ACTION to strengthen our democracy. Teams were formed to address issues in Maryland relating to education, systemic racism, and the economy.
