2026 Uniting for Action SW PA Projects
Uniters in Southwestern Pennsylvania are working in collaboration with community partners from Allegheny, Fayette, Greene, Washington and Westmoreland counties to address urgent challenges facing these communities.

Allegheny County
The Allegheny County Uniters, in partnership with the Center for Shared Prosperity and One Roof, are bringing the community together through Rotating Rooms, a financial pipeline resource fair designed to improve access to resources, opportunities, and support systems. The project creates a unique opportunity to better understand how public and community systems contribute to individual and community stability. It also identifies where barriers, gaps, and challenges remain. By centering resident voices alongside community partners and decision-makers, Rotating Rooms creates space for shared learning, dialogue, and collaboration across sectors. Keeping the event free and accessible is intentional. The goal is not simply to connect people to resources, but to strengthen trust, increase awareness, and create pathways for individuals and communities to move beyond silos and toward greater connection and stability. Rotating Rooms is grounded in the belief that when people have access to the right resources, trusted relationships, and a better understanding of the systems around them, they are better positioned to identify opportunities, advocate for themselves and their communities, and create lasting impact.
Fayette County
Fayette County Uniters have created Rebuild and Rise, a community-centered reentry initiative developed in partnership with Summit Legal Aid. The initiative is designed to strengthen reentry resources, expand opportunities, and build stronger pathways to stability for individuals and families returning to their communities after incarceration, probation, or other involvement with the criminal legal system.

Greene County
Meet me at the Table, Greene! Greene County Uniters, partnering with Blueprints, are hosting a series of gatherings that aim to build community through conversation, connection, and compassion. Each gathering focuses on a different topic (caregiving, grief, self care, and food!) and creates a space for the residents of Greene County to break bread together, share individual stories, and to learn more about each other. They are breaking down the barriers caused by isolation and creating opportunities to share knowledge and resources in an effort to build a stronger Greene County community.
Washington and Westmoreland Counties
Washington and Westmoreland County Uniters, in partnership with Mon Valley Alliance, are addressing the growing issue of social isolation and the powerful role that connection plays in building stronger, healthier communities. Through a two-pronged approach, the group will bring people together through an accessible in-person community event while also developing multimedia tools designed to inform, encourage, and create connection beyond the event itself. These tools, including videos, a website, hands-on resources, and more, will provide practical ways for people to find opportunities for connection and build stronger relationships within their own communities. The tools will be designed with sustainability and broad accessibility in mind. Together, these efforts aim to break down isolation, create meaningful connections, and remind people that we are healthier and stronger when we connect with one another.
