This page offers UR Action resources to the broader community of targeted violence prevention practitioners and researchers.
The resources featured here are used in the Department of Homeland Security-funded Uniting to Prevent Targeted Violence(UPTV) in South-Central Pennsylvania program, a non-partisan initiative led by UR Action that brings together 28 Pennsylvanians in Adams, Dauphin, Franklin, and York Counties to work across divides to prevent targeted violence. UPTV kicked off in Gettysburg on February 18, 2023 and will run through August 2024.
Uniters Teams' Projects
Each team of Uniters is working with a community partner to implement a primary prevention project that strengthens social services to address underlying risk factors for targeted violence. Below are the projects that the teams of Uniters are implementing with community partners in Adams, Dauphin, Franklin, and York Counties:
Just for Today Recovery & Veteran's Support Services promoting stronger relationships and understanding among veterans and service providers, including co-responders, in Dauphin County.
Mediation Services of Adams County: Promoting constructive conversation to defuse political tension in Adams County.
Our partner, the News Literacy Project, offers several free media literacy resources for the public, including an e-learning platform, an app, a new podcast, shareable tips, tools, quizzes and an annual news literacy event.
